Master Certified Coach

I am a coach.

I am a business owner.

I am a farmer and rancher.

My life is fulfilled.

It’s hard to describe the joy I feel in speaking those words and sharing those words with others.

Primarily because that hasn’t always been the case.

I struggled for years on a path that wasn’t aligned with the dreams and goals I had for my life.

Through a “Lemony Snicket's: Series of Unfortunate Events” occurring over many years, I ended up in a counselor’s office one day to talk through a long laundry list of things I was feeling “unhappy” about, to put it lightly. “Unhappy” was actually more like extreme anxiety and emotional pain over my current situation. Don't get me wrong - I was still very high functioning but was absolutely miserable on the inside and it was starting to present itself in physical illness on the outside. The misalignment in my life – being on a path that wasn’t taking me the direction I wanted to go - was weighing heavily on me. Fortunately, the counselor I chose was also a coach and believed in moving me forward and out of the doldrums.

With my coach’s support, I began seeing a different future – one filled with hope and excitement.

Not because my circumstances had changed right then, but because my thoughts had changed and I had a plan in place to move forward.

My Corporate Journey

My first job in the Architecture-Engineering-Construction (AEC) industry was in 1992. Baking birthday cakes for monthly celebrations of all things. From there I spent many summer and winter breaks in various support roles for engineering firms. From blueprint reproduction (oh the ammonia fumes!) to answering phones, to the accounting department, I was the fly on the wall, soaking in the operations. I taught high school science (integrated physics and chemistry, chemistry, biology - and coached the marching band color guard) for a few years after college. I eventually joined the AEC industry full time in 2006 in accounting, quickly added human resources (HR) functions, and then spent the remainder of my in-house career in marketing, business development, and HR management.  As a result, I have a unique perspective on the challenges facing small- to mid-sized, high growth consulting firms and their employees.

I understand the deadline-driven environment and want to help you take control.

I know the frustration of so-called "toxic" coworker relationships and have learned how to have compassion and love for them regardless of how they behave.

I know the struggle of wanting to move forward in a career but not having a clear path defined or support for that path.

And so on and so forth, right? The list of struggles can go on and on. The moral of the story is that I have been in your shoes and know the hill you are climbing.

My Turning Point

In the latter half of 2016 I started down a path that would begin to open my eyes, show me how to develop my mission and vision for life, and help me execute those plans. It was not overnight, but I did find a path that gave me control over my future. I want to help you get there, too.

I want to be a resource you can reach out to when you're stuck. Whether it be a special project implementation in the office, dealing with uncomfortable coworker relationships, personal struggles (relationships, weight loss, etc.), or even studying for certification exams. Whatever it is....

I want to be on YOUR team. Because I believe you have great value and can achieve what you desire.
